Elgin, IL, October 2008 – Multifilm Packaging's intention to invest in their printing department had been in discussion for some time. They recently decided on a 52” 8-color PRIMAFLEX® flexographic press, based on W&H's reputation as the market leader in advanced technology, reliability of the equipment and positive feedback from other W&H customers that Multifilm visited, confirming that the machine performed even better than promised.
“Historically, our business has been long runs, 3 to 4 colors, and simple print designs,” says Chris Rogers, Vice President of Sales. “As we have grown into other areas, we have seen more of our business shift into shorter runs, more colors, and more complex print designs with screens and process printing. We needed a printing press that could dramatically improve our productivity on all our current business and provide the opportunity to expand in our newer markets by offering 8 color printing.”
The new press is expected to be ready for production by January 2009.
